Travel advise from Interlaken to Zermatt

    Hi,

    1. how to travel to zermatt from Interlaken ? and from zermatt to mountreux ?

    2. As Zermatt is expensive to stay overnight, is there is any nearby village to stay for a night ?

    Hi Vived,

    I assume you are asking how to travel by train to these destinations? Or are you considering a car?

    For train trips, enter your to and from towns (Zermatt to Interlaken for example) on the Swiss railways timetable here for schedules and prices for point to point tickets (unless you are planning on buying a Swiss Travel Pass or similar). If you have the STP, you can jump on any train you want – no need to buy any other tickets.

    I think Täsch may be a good option to find a hotel of some sort near Zermatt.

    Hi Vived

    Just a thought on accommodation in Zermatt you could try the Youth Hostel (YHA) there as they include breakfast and also the views of the Matterhorn are breathtaking.
