We are debating about best way to get to Zermatt in late January from Torgon/Aigle area. We would like to see as much as we can in Zermatt and all info shows earliest we’d get to Zermatt is almost 11:30AM and must leave buy 6:30 to get public transportation back . If we decide to rent a car- will will we be able to drive it to Tasch safely?

Hi Ski Maria,

Aigle to Zermatt by train would take roughly 2.5 hours. If you wish to make the most of your day trip, I suggest starting out really early. If you take the 7.22 morning train, you could be in Zermatt just before 10. Ideally you should spend the night (or two) if you plan to do more sightseeing and skiing.
