Im looking to find best deal for my 18 yr old daughter and I to take train from basel to locarno with a couple of hours stop in between to visit luzern on April 26. Im not sure if there is a companion pass deal or a saver or super saver pass that would be best. I arrive from paris @ 1:26pm but on SBB saver ticket, I only see train departing at 5pm from Basel. Any ideas or help is appreciated. Thanks

    Hi Noriemcgee,

Welcome to MySwissAlps! The best option depends on all your travel plans combined. You may then benefit from a pass for your entire visit, including this trip. Based on just this trip, I would say you can look into the Saver Day Pass and Supersaver ticket. Please find details here:

There are definitely trains before 5 PM, please check the timetable for that: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable.

You can combine a Companion Ticket with a Saver Day Pass.

Where do I purchase the companion ticket w the saver pass. Also is the ticket good all day if I get off at Lucerne for a few hours then on to Locarno for the rest of the journey or do I need to purchase a timed ticket. Thanks

See link to Companion Ticket in my previous post.

There is a purchase button on right of screen.

Buy the Saver Day Pass at http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass/price

You can break and resume your journey as often as you like.

Thank you so much. So I purchase them separately. First the companion pass then the saver pass or do I have option to purchase at same time

You have to buy them separately I believe. You have already missed out on the cheapest SDP price of CHF52. The price increases closer to travel date until they eventually sell out.
