My wife and I arrive zurich by air on July 1 at 1035 am to travel to Lauterbrunnen for 4 days, returning to Zurch to catch a flight at 325 pm (1525) on July 5. It doesn’t appear trains are a reasonable option due to scheduling as panoramic trains all leave earlier than our flight arrival. It seems we need rent a car unless anyone can suggest any other reasonable option? thanks in advance!

Hello Island Park and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

There are no Panoramic trains between Zurich and Lauterbrunnen. This recent thread explains the “scenic” route.

Read http://www.myswissalps.com/ca rversustrain then use the SBB Timetable (bit.ly/2HH1U7B) to plan your travel. If you are not familiar with using the timetable it will pay to first read the instructions on this page – http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable.

    Hi Island Park,

Only very few itineraries in Switzerland require a car or would be more comfortable with a car. There are trains operating all day long from and to all towns. Rockoyster gave you a few good links. If any questions remain, feel free to ask.
