Hello

1. I would like to drive from Geneva to Interlaken by car. Then Interlaken to a place closer to Mt Titilis .Can you advice a place ?

2. How long will this journey be ? Is this any economical than train ticket ?

3. Also Is it any cheaper to buy Cable car ticket directly without buying a half fare pass?

Hi Meeraps-

For the first part of your question, I find that Google maps is useful. It gives you a quick choice of travel times by different modes of transport. It includes walking. I’d not suggest that for this journey. 😉

1. Lucerne is a town on the lake with a historical center and good train connections: 45 minutes to Engelberg. You can also stay in Engelberg itself, at the foot of Mount Titlis.

2./3. The cheaper travel option depends on all of your trips in Switzerland combined. I’d estimate the trips you mentioned around CHF 250 including a Swiss Half Fare Card. Renting a car plus spending money on a full fare ticket to Mount Titlis is probably more expensive, and not as comfortable. Plus, you can take the scenic Golden Pass train route. Please see:
