Am I correct that I cannot make seat reservations for GEX before three months from my travel date in June 2019?

    Hi JPAR,

You are correct, 3 months is normal. However, you can reserve with companies like HappyRail (noted on our site here: http://www.myswissalps.com/gl acierexpress/packages) earlier than 3 months. They will then reserve for you as soon as the reservations become available and email you at that time.

    Thank you Lucas.

Is more costly to reserve via HappyRail? If I wait until 3 months before, do I risk not getting a seat because it may have sold out?

They do charge a little extra for the service I believe yes.

No, no one can technically book before the 3 month limit – it shouldn’t be an issue, unless a tour group grabs up a lot of seats on the particular date and departure time you want (unusual but it happens). Tour groups will book on the exact 90 day before departure usually.
