    Hi,

I am looking to travel to Switzerland in August and am confused by all the passes, I am travelling from Geneva airport to Grindelwald and returning the following week, am I correct to think the cheapest is 2 day passes plus a family pass for the 2 kids? Can anyone confirm, or even better a cheaper way?

    Thanks

    Hi Rogerguide,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

If your journey is one-off, you can get a point-to-point ticket as explained here: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/switzerland. You can get 2 separate single journey tickets – one for the outward journey (Geneva to Grindelwald) and one for the return (Grindelwald to Geneva). Children under 6 travel for free. For children 6 to 15 years old, you can purchase a Junior Travel Card which will allow them to travel along for free.

In addition to standard point-to-point tickets, you can also purchase a Saver Day Pass for your trip. You can find more details here: http://www.myswissalps.com/saverdaypass. There are also Saver Day Pass for children (CHF19).

If you plan to make day trips and excursion using public and mountain transportation while in Grindelwald, you might want to consider using a regional pass such as the Jungfrau Travel Pass. You can find further details here: http://www.myswissalps.com/jungfrautravelpass

    Hope this helps.

    Regards,

    Anna
