Hello, I am planning to travel from 30 December 2015 to 2 January 2016 using the Swiss Travel Pass. Will the trains be crowded during these times? I am deciding between first class and second class. Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi intermagix,

The weeks around Christmas and New Year are the busiest of the year (in tourism). However, whether it will be crowded in a particular train depends on the day, time and route. On Saturdays, many routes to and from mountain resorts will be busy because of tourists checking in and out of their chalets. The timetable does show expected occupancy for some trains, so that's a guideline.

As for first versus second class, please see here. For Swiss Travel Pass prices and retailers, please see here. In your case it worth it to have a look at www.raileurope.com.sg/ pass/swiss-travel-pass-82.
