As part of our trip to the BO region in September, we will be transferring from our apartment in Grindelwald to the Hotel Post-Hardermannli in Unterseen.

We are considering taking the train from Grindelwald to Wilderswil and changing to the bus 105 that would take us to a stop just a short walk from the hotel.

Are the busses on this route able to accommodate passengers with luggage? We will likely each have a small suitcase and a carry-on size bag.

    Hello Are2,

Good planning is half the journey, isn’t it?!

You will not have any problems bringing luggage onto the Swiss public busses, as both city and mountain transportation is used to visitors being on board. This doesn’t mean you’ll have extensive, comfortable storage room for your luggage, but you’ll have no hassle at all or discussions taking it on board (I don’t assume it’s maxi size stuff!)

    Thanks Steph! We certainly agree!

In fact, the planning portion, for us at least, is exciting because we can let our imagination’s run with the thought’s of what we are about to see, and do. And with all of the wonderful information we’ve received on this forum, we’ve been able to fine tune our planning.

Oh, and we’re hoping our luggage will not be considered “Maxi” sized.

    Two 60cm suitcase’s and two 53cm carry-on’s?

    Not a problem!

The connection at Wilderswil to the 105 bus is convenient and it’s only a short ride to Unterseen.

    Enjoy your travels!

    Thank You Gunzel!

That’s good to know. The bus stop at Unterseen, Stedtlizentrum makes for just a short walk to our hotel.

My husband and i are In Bönigen for a few days. We take the bus, which is a less than five minute walk from our apartment, to Interlaken and the train from there. Many people traveling with luggage everyday. We will travel with ours when we leave for Lake Como tomorrow. It’s a magnificent country and the people are great
