    Hi all,

We are travelling to Switzerland in 20 days from now.

Is it safe for pregnant females (3 months pregnant) and infants (10 month old) to visit high altitudes like Mount Titlis and Mount Jungfrau ? Are they allowed in the gandola?

Are any precautions needed if they are allowed?

    Any personal experiences?

Thanks in advance for the help.

    R

    Hi Mickey,

Welcome to MySwissAlps! Infants under 2 years old should not be taken to places over 2500 m altitude, unless your pediatrician says it’s fine. Personally I would not do it though. Both Mount Titlis and Jungfraujoch are higher than that. I recommend lower alternatives like Mount Rigi, Mount Pilatus and Schynige Platte. All of these are free with a Swiss Travel Pass.

    Dear Arno

Thanks a lot for the instant reply.

Can you suggest us an itinerary for a 7-8 days trip to Switzerland? Wife is pregnant and we have a 10 month child.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Mickey,

We don’t create itineraries here. If you need help with it, check out our trip planning links here.

Planning trips depend a lot on what you want to see and do while you are here which you haven’t mentioned. Visit cities and museums? Visit some of the lower altitude mountains? etc. etc.

Have a look at our links on: What to do and where to go in Switzerland.
Once you have a rough itinerary planned we can of course guide you on refining it, picking the best rail pass etc. and members are always happy to give their 2 cents!

    Great!

Feel free to post your itinerary at anytime once you have it roughly finalized and we would be happy to help make adjustments or clarify anything if needed!
