We will be traveling with two grandchildren later this summer in Switzerland who are ages 10 and 12. Is there a way for the children to travel free on the trains with us? We have not yet purchased rail passes and are exploring our best option. We will be with them for 12 days.

Hi Cathyheck842,

Welcome to MySwissAlps.

With the Children's Co-Travelcard, your grandchildren can travel along for free everywhere as long as you have a valid railpass or ticket. The Children's Co-Travelcard is similar to a Junior Travel Card. You can buy it directly from any staffed SBB train station. More details here: www.myswissalps.com/juniortravelcard

Information about railpass options here: www.myswissalps.com/train/ticketspasses

Regards,

Anna

Thank you, Anna. Are non- Swiss children eligible for the Co-travel card? I am seeing conflicting answers to this.

Hi again,

Yes, the Children Co-Travel Card is available for non-residents too but it's only valid for a month (for residents they are valid for up to a year).

Regards,

Anna
