First of all thanks a lot to everyone at MySwissAlps for answering all my questions and queries which made a very successful Switzerland tour for me and my wife from 9 to 18 October 2017.

I am posting 9 day trip report to share it with everyone.

Day 1: Arrived at Zurich airport and got a train directly to Chur. Reached chur in evening and overnight stay at chur.

Day 2: Got on to Bernina express round trip from chur to tirano and back tirano to Chur. Got to see some spectacular views on the way.

Day 3: Got on to glacier express from chur to zermatt. Reached zermatt in evening and overnight stay in Zermatt.

We personally felt views on Bernina were better than on glacier express because of changing terrains and landscape on Bernina express route.

Day 4: Went for a cable car ride up to Klein Matterhorn at 3883 mts we got the best view of Matterhorn peak and experience of snow. Due to it’s height Klein Matterhorn is very cold with chilly breeze but it’s worth an experience. Later in noon we went to Gorner gorge and did hiking to Furi.

We did not go to gornergrat as we got best experience at Klein Matterhorn itself.

Gorger Gorge is a hidden gem and must visit if looking for an easy hike up to Furi.

Day 5: Got on to train from Zermatt to wengen. A long but wonderful train journey into Bernese Oberland. Reached wengen in evening.

We were speechless with the beauty of Bernese Oberland region and lauterburnnen valley with Staubbach waterfall so prominent it was the best viewing place for our entire trip. It’s true what everyone says about Bernese Oberland region it’s one of the most beautiful parts of Switzerland.

Day 6: Went for hike from wengen to lauterburnnen and late a cable car ride and cogwheel train to murren.

Murren is a beautiful town opposite to wengen.

We gave jungfraujoch a miss due to really steep price and already being at height of 3883 mts at Klein Matterhorn getting best experience of height as well as snow jungfrau did not appeal us we did not feel like spending so much of money for jungfrau and were not interested in being at highest railway station of Europe either.

Day 7: Left wengen even though we did not want to and reached weggis via Lucerne. Another long journey but again change in landscape made it worth. Went to weggis via boat from Lucerne.

Did a trip to mount rigi and overnight stay in weggis.

Day 8: Did a trip to Mount Titlis And really enjoyed the activities up there. While returning to weggis we did a half cruise on lake Lucerne in evening and it was beautiful

Day 9: left for airport from weggis via Lucerne and got flight back to India.

Staying at weggis was a little disappointing for us because it’s literally a ghost town in evening and everything closes down around 9pm including restaurants. Also in evening connectivity to Lucerne is not good may be due to October month. But lake Lucerne is beautiful to watch from weggis.

We made a promise to ourselves to visit Switzerland again as the beauty of Bernese Oberland made us fall in love and it’s gonna be first choice destination for all our future international vacations.
