Luggage transfer registration at a Swiss railway station requires a valid ticket for the whole journey per SBB website. Does it mean that for requesting transfer (not express) from Zurich to St Moritz (to be picked up after 5 days) all railway/bus tickets for intermediate sectors like Zurich/Lucerne, Lucerne/Murren, Murren/Andermatt etc , are to be shown at Zurich? Some tickets may not be purchased before actual journey. Any views on how this rule is applied? Thanks.

    Hi nbaner,

Typically you are ok as long as you have a ticket on SBB and not necessarily one for the luggage destination (luggage on train details) – a Swiss Travel Pass is sufficient and that is valid for most any route in Switzerland.

There is an online form you can fill out to contact SBB about the issue so you know for sure: https://www.sbb.ch/en/ scroll to the bottom of the page

As far as your luggage goes, I believe it will simply be shipped by the most direct route Zürich-St Moritz, rather than via the individual legs you intend to take.

Luggage storage on the day your luggage arrives in St Moritz, and for four subsequent days, is free. A fee of CHF 5.00 will be charged for every additional day.
