    Hi All,

We are vegetarian and do like to explore other culture especially food. Can you suggest some dishes to try at Lucern, interlaken and Zermatt (we have some time in evening) ? Dairy is absolutely fine. Also good local chocolates to taste.

    Thanks in advance,

    Regards,

    Hrishi

    Hi Hrishi,

You won’t have any problems finding vegetarian meals and snacks in Switzerland. Supermarktes have a wide range of vegetarian products and most restaurants offer at least one, but mostly more, vegetarian dishes. You may want to try rösti, cheese fondue or raclette: http://www.myswissalps.com/ab outswitzerland/culture history/food. A famous vegatarian-only restaurant in Zurich is Hiltl.

As for chocolate: again, supermarkets offer a wide choice. Just enter any of them and be amazed by the amount of brands and bars. Swiss brands worth a try are, for example, Frey, Lindt, Toblerone and Cailler, but there are many more including local or regional brands. You’ll also find specialized chocolate stores in the towns you mentioned, such as Läderach and Sprüngli. They’re pricey, but worth a try if you’re a chocolate lover :-).
