    My husband and myself have 1st class, 8 day, consecutive rail passes and separate seat reservations for Zweisimmen to Montreux on August 31, 2018 @ 16:25. Are we supposed to take further action to secure either a seat on Belle Epoque or possibly… VIP front panorama seats on the Golden Pass train? Thanks in advance for insight

    the front view seats on VIP trains are usually reserved as there are very few of them. Belle Epoque train seats are more ‘normal’ and there are usually seats available without advanced reservation

    Hi 1960man, do you know the protocol to reserve vip seats on Golden Pass?

    Hi Cheri,

    The 16:25 train from Zweisimmen to Montreux does not have any VIP seats. It is usually a Belle-Époque train, but is not identified in the timetable as such on 31 August, so might just be a normal panoramic train.

    The VIP seats are only on the trains departing Zweisimmen at 12:25 and 18:25. The VIP seats are booked out on the 12:25 train on 31 August. There are still 2 front-row VIP seats left on the 16:25 train, but they are not together. There are seats together in the second-row of VIP seats.

    If you wish to travel on the 18:25 and book VIP seats, you can do so here at a cost of CHF 15 per seat:

    reservations.mob.ch/re servation/reservation/ reservation/reservatio n/reservation/reservat ion/reservation/reserv ation/reservation/rese rvation/f?p=151:1:35018694013437 17::NO:::

    Unfortunately you won’t get a refund on the other reservations you have already paid for.

    Personally – I’m not a fan of the VIP train.

    My advice would be to stick to the reservations you have as the 16.25 from Zweisimmen is the Belle Epoque train – and it’s very nice!

    Thank you 1960man, I’m glad because the timing of the 16:25 train is better for us!
