Hi Liz,
I am sorry but I do not know that series. Regarding Sigriswil, here is how you can get there: http://www.myswissalps.com/forum/topic/panorama-bridge-sigriswil-and-iseltwald.
This is the site of the Panorama Bridge: http://www.brueckenweg.ch/microsite-en.html.
Yes, you can visit Brienz and the lake with Sigriswil from Lucerne in one day, that is doable. Read about the boat trips on Lake Brienz here: http://www.myswissalps.com/boatlakebrienz.
Take care,
Ildiko

Can someone please help me plan out my day trip from Lucerne to Brienz and Sigriswil? I also plan to stop at Giessbach to see the waterfall and have lunch there.
Will this plan work below or is there a better way of doing this?
From Lucerne, take train/bus to Sigriswil bridge
from Sigriswil, take bus to Interlaken
from Interlaken, take boat cruise to Giessbach to see Isetwald from lake
Explore Giessbach waterfall)
take boat from Giessbach to Brienz
take Train from Brienz back to Lucerne
1. How much time do you think I need at Sigriswil? We just want to cross the bridge and take photo
2. is there a way back from Giessbach to Lucerne?

Your current plan is the best option, there is no better workable plan in my view.
The best resource for getting around in Switzerland is ‘Schweizmobil’, which clearly shows every public route from walking paths through cycling paths and roads to bus routes, railways, lake boat routes etc:

To get to Luzern from Giessbach you must go to Brienz by boat first
