I’ll be travelling and hiking in Zermatt and Val D’Anniviers the first decade of September.
What kind of weather can be expected in the area? What clothes recommended?
Last year i travelled in Wengen and Lucern the last decade of Augutst, and it was very warm.

    Thank you!

Hi torolga. Generally, it will be mild in September with less rainfall than in May to August. These stats for Zermatt may provide some insight. But these are only averages: you can and should expect anything in the Alps. So you’d best prepare for different types of weather. Carry along several thin layers of clothes during your hikes, so you can adjust to varying temperatures and other circumstances. Long hiking pants, a shirt, fleece sweater and water proof jacket should be fine gear for hikes on moderate altitude and in average weather.
