I’m planning on 5 nights in Wengen in early June.

Any thoughts/preferences on these two hotels? Is there a better option?

Is 5 nights too long in Wengen?

I’m open to any suggestions as to best options for towns to stay in and sights to see.

Many thanks! B

In opinion, 5 nights is pretty good. I was only able to do 3 nights and wished I had a couple more.

Can't help you with hotel choices but we stayed at the Maya Caprice and found it to be a great place to stay. Super views of the valley and mountains.

We spent 8 nights in Wengen last June and loved it so much we are going back for 10 nights this year. We stayed at the Hotel Baren and loved it and will stay there again. We loved the accessibility to amazing hiking and scenery. so if that is what you are after Wengen is a great base in the most idyllic location.

We stayed at the Hotel Schoenegg in September and loved it. Were only there 3 nights and like others I wish we had stayed longer. Here's a view from our balcony

Thanks everyone! Has anyone eaten at the fondue restaurant in Wengen?

Any thoughts on hotel restaurants for dinner?

Hi Bmanners1,

I have no personal experiences in these 2 hotels, but according to the reviews on Hotelscombined I would prefer Hotel Schonegg over Hotel Silberhorn. Also they have good reviews of the restaurant, so I guess you can try it.

Restaurants can be good without being in hotels, and Wengen is small, so you can walk. Although the Schönegg traditionally has had a very high end gourmet kitchen, much more sophisticated than the Silberhorn, it has been running through managers recently. So, past reviews of the kitchen may be irrelevant.

I've had consistently good luck with the Cafe Eiger, right by the train station.
