    Hi,

I am coming to Switzerland for 6 days in March, on a rail adventure – Im doing the golden pass, bernina express, glacier express and Jungfraujoch with overnight stays in Chur, Montreux and Interlaken. I am expecting it to be snowy in March, but I don’t know how bad it will be in the cities – we don’t really get snow in the south of england so it will be an experience!

My question is – would it be better to bring a rucksack or will a wheely suitcase be ok? I dont want to be that tourist that has a suitcase get stuck in the snow!! Would a bag be better or will the pavements etc be clear enough to pull a suitcase? It will be fairly heavy as all the clothes will be winter gear, and I won’t always want to wear my boots on the train.

    Guidance is much appreciated!

    Karen

Hi Karen and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You never know with weather, but I would bet there won’t be too much snow in those towns and if there is the streets are usually kept quite clear. I would try to pack as light as possible but don’t think you need to avoid wheeled luggage.
