I’ll be in Switzerland starting August 8th an am wondering what I should bring? I’ll be taking the Gornergrat train in Zermatt, the Jungfraujoch, Mt. Titlis, etc. Is it typically cold up on top of these mountains?Will a light winderbreker be sufficient? Thank you in advance!

On average, temperature drops 1o degrees Celsius for every 1000 meters of altitude:

To answer your question in more detail , it will be useful to understand what you intend to do on those mountain tops, and for how long. Do you have remote release for your cameras. or, will you use your fingers?

Hello Bsphoto22,

Being on the mountains in whatever season will always require some extra layers to bring along. In summer, the temperatures can be “nice and warm” on the mountains, but again, you can also be caught by a storm and rainfall during summer. A winder-breaker is for sure a good idea, I would also bring at least one warmer, layer, such a jumper, or similar.
