This is my itinerary for a family of 4 (2 adults, 1 youth and 1 child).

3 nights in Montreux, 1 night in Zermatt, 4 nights in Lucerne, 2 nights in Grindelwald, 1 night in Zurich and 1 night in Innsbruck. I aim to cover Geneva city tour, Cheese and chocolate factory visit in Vevey / Montreux, Glacier 3000, Saanen, Matterhorn views, 5 lakes visit, Lion monument, Bern, Mount Rigi, Pilatus, Titlis, Cliff walk and Bachalpsee, Jungfraujoch, Zurich city tour, Schaffhausen (Rhine falls), Nordkette cable car, city tour in Innsbruck, Swarovski museum / wall, Achensee during these 13 days.

What would be the best way to travel and what pass would suit my family? Thanks a ton to all the folks out there.

Hello ruchirm and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

Train is the best way to travel in Switzerland.

Based on your itinerary you need to do the sums based on the cost of all your planned trips on trains, boats, cable cars etc.

You can use the Swiss Train Timetable (goo.gl/PXbqWw) to work out the fares for any trip. If you are not familiar with the timetable it will pay to first read the instructions at bit.ly/2IwxrEV.

When you go to buy a ticket the fare you see on the right hand side of the page will normally be the half-fare price. Double it to get full fare. With A Swiss Travel Pass it is free provided it is shown as free on the Area of Validity map ( PDF downloadable from http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/validity).

You should read “How to choose the best travel pass” (http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass), download the handy spreadsheet calculator and do the math.
