We’re planning a trip from Zurich to Tirano using Bernina Express on 07/12/2018. We also want to stay in St. Moritz for 1 night and to use Bernina express in both directions, 1.from chur to st moritz, 2.from st moritz to tirano the day after.

When I look at the timetables for dates :

    http://www.rhb.ch/en/panorami c-trains/bernina-express#info

    1) on 07/12 train 951 leaves Chur but I couldn’t understand if it stops anywhere near st moritz (pontresina for example).

    2) there’a second line (train 975) that leaves st moritz for Tirano the next day.

So where should we leave Bernina express if its possible?

Hi Mochi and welcome to MySwissAlps!

The link you posted shows the timetable for the Bernina Express train – scroll down. You’ll see for “29.10.2018 – 08.12.2018” the train leaves at 08:32 from Chur and arrives at St. Moritz after a change of trains at Pontresina (the little # 4 note)

So to get to St. Moritz (and out) you must get off and on the Bernina Express at Pontresina.

Reservations for both trips on the Bernina Express are mandatory and can be made here: http://www.myswissalps.com/be rninaexpress/packages

If you are splitting the journey there is no need to use the Bernina Express – you will save unnecessary reservation fees).

Especially don’t use the Bernina Express for just a Chur – St Moritz journey. This is the Albula route. Just take the regular IR trains (every hour) they leave Chur at xx.58 past each hour

I second 1960man’s advice to take a regular direct train from Chur to St. Moritz. The next day you can take an actual Bernina Express from St. Moritz to Tirano. If you go back north you can connect to a train to Landquart in Samedan, in order to see a different route for more variety.

Please see here for things to do and hotel suggestions: http://www.myswissalps.com/st moritz.
