Hi I am almost near the end of a wonderful and beautiful trip to Switzerland .

i have a few francs remaining.. want to convert it to usd .

    1) should I convert it here or in my home country .

    2) if here where is the best place which gives a best rate .

    3) how much commission do they charge to convert to usd

    Hi Impactedmind,

Usually banks give the best rate – whether the banks here have better rates than at your home I don’t know. I’d exchange it here I think. Just avoid the companies at the airport – they tend not to give good rates.

SBB offices also exchange money at many larger train stations which I’ve used before. Or just buy more Swiss chocolate to use up the last CHF. 😉

I like the chocolate suggestion 🙂 That way you don’t loose a percentage of your money and you’ll get something in return. Another suggestion is to hold on to the money for your next trip 😉
