    Hello,

We are a family of 4 with two children ages 7 & 5.

    Our plan is:

    – Day 1: Take TGV Lyria from Paris to Interlaken and onwards to Wengen.

    – Day 2,3,4: Take trains and cable cars in Jungfrao region. Include visit to Schilthorn. Not planning Jungfraujoch.

    – Day 5: Take trains from Wengen to Geneva airport. Include break in Interlaken for lake Breinz cruise.

Please suggest the optimal rail passes for my family and above plans.

    Thanks in advance!

One option would be: Swiss transfer ticket and a 4 day Regionalpass Berner Oberland

Thank you for the prompt response.

    1) Would a transfer ticket allow for arrival transfer from Basel (coming in from Paris) and then return to Geneva airport?

    2) Will this be better than just buying Swiss Half Fare Passes for the adults and kids get free?

    Thanks.

Hi LoveBrowsing and welcome to MySwissAlps!

    1. Yes it would. You can read more about the Swiss Transfer Ticket and how to use it here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisstransfertic ket & read more about the Regional Pass Bernese Oberland here: https://www.myswissalp s.com/regionalpassbern eseoberland
    2. To know if that combination, or another rail pass(es) like the Swiss Half Fare Card (https://www.myswissalp s.com/swisshalffarecar d) is better you must plan out your daily itinerary first.

That is, to know which rail pass is the best for your specific itinerary you need to plan out all trips you will make (train, bus, boat, cable car) and compare the prices for regular tickets to the rail pass price (and which routes/mountains are free or discounted). Once you have that information you can read our page here on how to choose the best rail pass. There is a spreadsheet there to help with the math. 🙂
