Hi! I’m going family to Switzerland in May 2, to stay for eight nights! We are traveling with a 1 year old toddler in a backpack child career from deuter, and we have a good experience in mountaineering and climbing. Although we are doing a more “family trip” than an adventure trip we would love to do some nice hiking. We would have time for that in Interlaken. We will stay three nights there. Considering we have the little one and a cannot go above 2500m with him, and also the season, which hikes do you guys would recommend for us?

ps: this site is incredible! It’s helping a lot with our vacation planning

I suggest you check the exact situation upon arrival as there might still be some snow, depending on the winter and just stick to some lower trails to begin with. You’ll find trail altitudes are on our hike pages.

Hi! I’ll be going to Swiss in early May with my family and a 1y2m son. I’ve been planning to go for some easy hikes at bachalpsee and googled that it is only 2,200m with easy trail but I rarely seen a photo of people bringing toddler there. I would like to have another opinion from the swiss experts. Is it safe and possible for us to bring a toddler to bachalpsee?
