Good morning

We will be travelling as a family of four, two adults and two teenage boys in December 2019. The period will include Christmas Day and my estimated dates of travel are the 22 December to the 28 December.

We are staying in Wengen for seven nights, and have visited Switzerland four times previously and have seen many of the top sights in this region, including most of the mountains. My question to the forum regards options for winter walking and gondola rides. We do not ski however, do not mind the idea of visiting a resort for perhaps tobogganing. We are not a family who would enjoy vigorous hiking but we do enjoy 3 to 4 hours of moderate walking, with the option of a meal and then return, perhaps by gondola or walking back. We would also enjoy going via gondola to areas less known by tourists. We have four full days to enjoy the area and thank you for taking the time to assist.

Hi Myles240200 and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Have you looked into the Jungfrau hiking and sledging pass (https://www.jungfrau.c h/en-gb/jungfrau-ski-region/jungfrau-region-hiking-and-sledging-pass/)?

That may work quite well for your plans in the Jungfrau region.

For a list of suggested hikes (some of which can be done in December) click here.

For winter hiking on Jungfraujoch area check out here: https://www.jungfrau.c h/en-gb/winter-hiking/ & sledging look here: https://www.jungfrau.c h/en-gb/sledging/.

I haven't done any winter hiking in the Jungfrau so can't give any personal experiences but I am sure other members can. :)
