    Hello,

I am interested in doing the 5-Seenweg in summer or autumn for photography. Is it possible to stay there long enough for photographing a sunrise or sunset? I checked the timetables of the funicular and gondola to reach the trail but these seem to be closed too early/too soon for sunrise or sunset. Is there any other way?

    Thank you!

You can hike up. Once we left Zermatt about 3am, as I recall, and hiked almost to Sunnegga to catch the sun rise on the Matterhorn. I have also spent the night at Fluhalp Hotel and Restaurant and that was special. A photographers paradise.

There are various ‘on the mountain’ hotels and refuges around Zermatt, including Gornergrat and Riffelberg resort
