I am not able to look up on SBB app for fares to Klein Matterhorn from Zermatt for any dates in May and June 2019. It keeps saying “no service available”. Anyone knows why? Thanks

You will find ticket prices at bit.ly/2IlFWXn.
At some stage in that period I think maybe the new Crystal Ride cable cars are not operating but the older cable cars should be. You can download the summer timetable from http://www.matterhornparadise .ch/en/Current-news/Timetable.

similar issues here. got a nice response from the rail service people. You can’t book the summer until after May 1. Then May 2 and beyond – some period beyond anyway will open up for you.
If somebody could explain why all these rails aren’t available for booking before 2-3 months that would be useful
save a lot of posts to the forum

thanks for the info.
are these cable cars not available for booking via the SBB app? I am able to find the cable car options there just that the fares are not pulled? (Or are those the same cable cars offered via your web link or diiferent provider)
also if i book via those links can i still use the Half Fare Card?
thanks

You’ll find options to book this online here: http://www.myswissalps.com/kl einmatterhorn/tickets. Do note that booking cable car tickets online is still relatively new. So you’ll find various options from several retailers. I don’t think the domestic SBB website sells this, but their tourist web shop does: https://shop.switzerla ndtravelcentre.com/#/e n/product/excursionMat terhornParadise (also with Swiss Travel Pass/Swiss Half Fare Card discounts). It’s a paper ticket so unfortunately physical shipping applies. Note that many people don’t book months in advance because these trips are best done when the weather is good.

so will I be able to buy those cable car tickets at the Zermatt train station so I get the paper tickets?
thanks
ArnoModerator15484 posts16 April 2019 at 17:31:57 #909508HI LightPackerC,
Yes, for sure. Or at the cable car station (see my first link).

does the ticket to Matterhorn Glacier Paradise as shown on bit.ly/2IlFWXn cover the entry to Glacier Paradise? Or is it just for the cable car?
thanks
ArnoModerator15484 posts17 April 2019 at 6:39:25 #909510Hi LightPackerC,
Glacier Paradise if more of an overall term for the entire area up there. The cable car takes you there, and there is no extra charge for walking around indoors and outdoors and enjoying the views. The “Glacier Palace” (ice grotto) comes with an extra fee though (I’m not sure how much). Using the ski lifts is also extra. Please see http://www.myswissalps.com/kl einmatterhorn.
Have fun!
rockoysterParticipant8889 posts17 April 2019 at 6:57:02 #909511This link http://www.matterhornparadise .ch/en/Book/Online-tickets/Single-tickets-Matterhorn-glacier-paradise says it includes:
- Single or return trip to the Matterhorn glacier paradise (option of getting on or off at stations en route)
- Admission to the Glacier Palace
- Use of the viewing platform, Cinema Lounge and snow tubing run (as timetabled)
- Admission to the 3S InfoCube
- Bike transport (as far as Trockener Steg)
- Local bus
- Dogs are carried for free
- Use of the audio information system (available from the valley station)
Even if you get a ticket which doesn’t include the Glacier Palace I doubt it will break the bank if you decide to go take a look see.
