    Hello,

    1. Me & my husband will be travelling to Zurich for a short vacation and we are a bit confuse which train pass should we buy.

We reach Zurich tomorrow in afternoon – can we buy 9’o clock ticket to travel within Zurich and also go to lake Zurich in the evening?

Will the Lake Zurich boat ride also be included in this ticket or do we need to buy additionally?

    2. Next day we plan to go to Rheine falls- if we buy Zurich day pass , will it be enough?

Also on a Saturday , does 9’o clock ticket covers all zones in Zurich?

Please help us with your knowledge.

    Thank you

Hi Sanjivani099 and welcome to MySwissAlps.com!

The ZVV 9 O’Clock day pass is valid Monday to Friday from 9am to 5am on the following day. On Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, the pass has
unrestricted validity for the whole day.

You can find the validity map here: http://www.zvv.ch/zvv-assets/abos-und-tickets/zonen/tarifzonen-agglo-zuerich.pdf

The boat trips on that map are also free with the ZVV 9 O’Clock day pass.

    Hi there,

No, Rhein Falls are further, it takes around 50 mins by train to get there from Zürich: http://www.myswissalps.com/rhinefalls/gettingthere. You have to buy a train ticket to get to the Rhein Falls. Learn more about how to get a point to point train ticket: http://www.myswissalps.com/traintickets/switzerland

    Hi Sanjivanio99,

That’s correct, the day pass covers only part of the journey to the Rhine Falls. It will allow you to travel as far as Dietikon. You’ll need an additional ticket from Dietikon to Schloss Laufen am Rheinfall or Neuhausen Rheinfall.

Trains to Neuhausen am Rheinfall don’t go via Dietikon (rather they go via Oerlikon – Bulach) , so this information may confuse the OP.

Neuhausen is on the wider ‘Z-Pass’ network. To reach it from Zurich would need an 8 zone Z-Pass ticket:
