Hi deepak,
You can do Rheinfalls and Lake Constance in one day. Is Zurich the start of your itinerary? It could be that one night is enough. Lucerne is much nicer.
There’s no regional pass for that area. There is a Tell-Pass that covers traveling around Lake Lucerne. Whether the Swiss Travel Pass is the best option, depends on your travel plans. You will need to check the prices of all your planned train, bus, gondola, boat tickets (you plan to take) and do the math to compare prices. We have a page here on how to choose the best rail pass that has a spreadsheet to help you.

If you are heading to Konstanz see http://www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/the-reluctant-travellers-swiss-adventure-part-6 for some ideas. The Swiss Travel Pass covers a fair bit of travel on the Bodensee and the Rhine between Konstanz and Schaffhausen.

Hi Chantal and Rockoyster,
Thanks a lot for your respective advice. Zurich is the last part of our tour, after which we fly back to Mumbai. So our last night should be in Zurich.(Return flight from Zurich, at 9.45 am). We will be coming in from Freiburg, Germany, so can we reach Lucerne early enough to see Lucerne and area around it? Then we can leave for Mt. Pilatus early next morning, come back and proceed to Zurich, and see the city. On the last day we can go to Rheinfalls and Lake Constance. Does it sound good enough?

That depends entirely on what time you arrive. Use the Deutsche Bahn or SBB timetable to plan your trip.

Mountain transport tends to close down late afternoon, so if you are trying to squeeze a mountain trip into your arrival day, make sure to find out (from the Swiss Timetable) what time the last transport down from the mountain top leaves.
