    Hi
I’m planning to travel over this weekend Oct 19, 20 to Zurich.
And planning for Mt. Titlis on Sunday.
Weather wise I see shower of rain, is it good plan to travel over this weekend?
And also how do I travel to Mt.Titlis for a day.
Swiss pass seems expensive for a day.
    Is there any other option?

It’s rather late notice to get a discounted ticket so you may have to pay full price for such a point to point 1 day journey. It si an easy journey though – a fast train Zurich – Luzern in less than 1 hour, then the shuttle train to Engelberg, then the cable car Engelberg – Titlis.

    Hi Soumya26rR,

Thanks for joining MySwissAlps! As an alternative to regular point-to-point tickets, you might want to consider getting the Saver Day Pass for your journey to Titlis.

The Saver Day Pass provides unlimited travel on Swiss public transport for 1 day but DOES NOT offer the same benefits as the Swiss Travel Pass i.e free museum entrance and discounts on selected mountain railways and cableways. You can purchase this online up to 1 day before you travel.

Please read the details here (including how to use and restrictions):
    Saver Day Pass: http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass
Point to point tickets: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/switzerland

For information how to get to Titlis:
    Mt Titlis: http://www.myswissalps.com/ti tlis/gettingthere

    Have a pleasant trip.
    Anna

p.s Sorry, I have made some corections regarding the Saver Day Pass. It does not actually include the benefits of the Swiss Travel Pass.

    Hi Anna

    If only! 😎

Your “The Saver Day Pass provides unlimited travel on Swiss public transport for 1 day and offers the same benefits as the Swiss Travel Pass i.e free museum entrance and discounts on selected mountain railways and cableways“ is somewhat at odds with the actual page on the Saver Day Pass.

    Thanks for the heads up!

It’s too early in the morning for forum postings isn’t it.

    Regards,
    Anna

    Hi Anna,

Thank you for the quick reply.
Weather says there is going to be shower of rain and cloudy.
Is it a good plan for me to see titlis at this time?
    Or shift the plans?

    Hi again,

The forecast for tomorrow (Oct 19) in Titlis is snowing throughout the day.
I’m not sure that will be ideal for you. You may want to postpone your visit to Sunday Oct 20 as the weather is expected to be more favourable (sunny/partly cloudy in the afternoon).

You can check the mountain webcam before your travel:
    http://www.titlis.ch/en/live/ webcams

If you are going to be in Lucerne this weekend anyway, check out what other activities you can do using this link:

A good rainy day option in Lucerne for me would be a visit to the Museum of Transport.

    Hope this helps!
