G’day Raypercy,
Sounds feasible.
You will need reservations on the Glacier Express and the Bernina Express (if you choose to go that way from St Mortiz). Reservations don’t open until 90 days out from travel. You won’t need reservations on any other Swiss trains but will do on the Italian legs for your journey.
See http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/italy.
Use the SBB Timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) to plan your travel. If you are not familiar with using the timetable it will pay to first read the instructions on that page. Next years timetables won’t appear until around 9 December. Glacier Express is denoted GEX in the timetable and Bernina Express as BEX.
On you way from Lucerne to Zermatt you can go the quick way suggested by the timetable by default or if you go via Interlaken and Kandersteg you will have a slightly longer but more scenic trip.

Hi Raypercy,
You can find our hotel suggestions for those towns on our site here: http://www.myswissalps.com/wh eretogo/towns – each town has a page for hotel suggestions.
The timetable for next year (beyond Dec.9) was due to be released today – it may still be or might be delayed but it should be quite shortly. The schedules won’t differ much in any case if you search for this week to get an idea.
Once you are ready to make reservations on the Glacier and Bernina Express trains (and when they are released) you can do so here:
