I need some advice about our trip late august. We will arrive in lucerne at 11:25 and arriving in montreux at 19:00 because of some waiting in between.ls it still shiny and bright when we reach the best leg of the tour which is Zweisimmen to montreux? Is it still possible to join the boat tour in Genneva when we arrive at 19:00. My advance thanks to your replies.

    Hi Lita k-

Welcome to My Swiss Alps and thanks for mentioning your time of travel.

When dealing with scheduling questions, exact dates get much more important as you move into the Fall season, but, in late August, everything will be running.

    This will help:

    and , this:

For daylight times anywhere in the world, do a web search for phrase such as ‘sunset times’

    I use this site: http://www.timeanddate.com/su n/

Sunset in Montreux in late August is around 20.15 – 20.20, so the sun will be getting lowish by 19.00

You must be arriving Montreux at 19.13 if you are travelling from Zweisimmen. You can’t get a lake boat from Montreux as late as you will be arriving as the boats will have finished for the day.
