Sorry if this has been asked previously but I need advice regarding the Zweisimmen to Montreux route. I found out that there is no direct train when we travel (4th Nov) due to construction. The train will travel from Zweisimmen via Montbovon and from there take the replacement bus to Montreux. My question is – is this route still scenic and worth it? We’re leaving from Interlaken Ost. Thanks a lot and appreciate the help.

Between Montbovon and Montreux the railway goes through a long tunnel under the high mountains. This is not paralleled by a road so the bus must go one of two ways (I don’t know which way it will go.):

Montbovon – Col des Mosses – Aigle – Montreux

    or

    Montbovon – Gruyeres – Bulle – motorway – Vevey – Montreux

Whichever route it goes you will see some nice scenery from the bus.

Hi Darlenetocmo and welcome to MySwissAlps.com!

Yes, there will be construction from 31/10/2022 to 19/11/2022 on the Golden Pass route between Les Avants and Allières. There are replacement buses from Montreux to Montbovon (and back).

You can read about the Golden Pass here: http://www.myswissalps.com/goldenpass.

    Take care,

    Ildiko
