2. I ask because I am writing a travel story on scenic rail journeys in Switzerland and I am researching the distances travelled.

I haven’t seen the mileage stated online before but I’m sure an email to SBB will get you the answer if the above link doesn’t have it. Bottom of page here: https://www.sbb.ch/en/ home.html

Hi Uvr2002,

You’ll find a detailed map on http://www.myswissalps.com/go tthardpanoramaexpress. It does not list distances but I got the below from the file with the coordinates. Should be pretty close to reality. The boat section length depends on the actual stops along the way, it does not take that into account.

• Lucerne – Flüelen (boat): 36.6 km
• Flüelen – Gotthard: 48.5 km
• Gotthard – Bellinzona: 69.2 km
• Bellinzona – Lugano: 27.9 km
