Hi Rika,
Yes, the VIP seats are in the 1st class section. Reservation information can be found here. If you have the Swiss Travel Pass then it is best to do the class upgrade at any Swiss railway station office.

Is the VIP seat available from Interlaken to Montreaux? seems like I have to upgrade my ticket first before I can reserve VIP seat. How can I find out the cost of the upgrade.
Thanks
Rika

You can do your reservation for Golden Pass train on http://www.goldenpassline.ch/ en/. and as mentioned by Lucas and Arno you can do point to point upgrade at Swis Railway station. I am also doing the same. I have 4 days Swiss travel pass 2nd Class. I have bought VIP 1 class tickets. http://www.sbb.ch/en/travelca rds-and-tickets/tickets-for-switzerland/class-upgrade.html
Thanks

Also it seems like first class seat cannot be booked 3 months in advance. I want to know what is the cost of 1st class upgrade from Weisemann to Montreaux. How do I find this info?
Please advice.

ArnoModerator15484 posts11 March 2017 at 17:19:24 #859912Hi Rika,
For train information and explanation about how to find prices, you can check the timetable. With a Swiss Travel Pass you will pay half the difference between 1st and 2nd class, so that’s CHF 12.50 for the upgrade. Note that the town names are Zweisimmen and Montreux. The seats can be booked through the link at the bottom of the page I gave you in my last post: myswissalps.com/golden pass/tickets. But beware, only a few trains have VIP seats. Most trains don’t have them.

I checked all the links you all suggested. I am finding all the details for Interlaken to Zweisimmen. It shows cost for seat reservation $15. when go to book seat from Zweisimmen to Montreaux there is no fee but it does not have a buy option. Does that mean it is sold out?
On a different link the calendar does not open beyond 4/11.
This is very difficult your help will be appreciated
Thx
Rika

I can see there are still VIP seats available for chf 15, on June 6 at 12:25 or 18:25 departures.
Use the link Arno has above, click on the Goldenpass.ch link at the bottom and and enter your dates and towns. Click on the trains for the times I mentioned and you can select seats in the VIP section.

I found the VIP seats on train #2119 for 12:25. The only train from Interlaken ost to Zweisimmen is at 9:05 reaching at 10:19. That means I will have to wait 2 hours at the train station for train #2119 with the VIP seat.
I can take regular train #3115 leaving at 10:25 which allows me only 6′ to change trains. is that enough time and how far is the other track?
Your suggestions are very helpful
thanks
Rika
ArnoModerator15484 posts16 March 2017 at 7:26:30 #859916Hi Rika,
Zweisimmen is a small station, 6 minutes is plenty of time to change trains.
Removed userParticipant72625 posts16 March 2017 at 17:56:10 #859917Hi
Is there a later train from Interlaken ost to Zweisimmen that reaches around 12pm, I still would prefer to train # 2119 so I can get VIP seats? This way I do not have to wait for 2 hrs at the station
Thx
Rika
ArnoModerator15484 postsRemoved userParticipant72625 posts20 March 2017 at 3:27:29 #859919I tried the link you suggested earlier for booking golden pass seat reservation but the link does not open. You had suggested another option to a different person to use MOB link. I did do my seat reservation from Interlaken ost to Montreux via Zweisimmen. The route from Interlaken to Zweisimmen is showing as standard and to Montreaux is showing panorama. I paid $5 for 1st part and $8 for 2nd part. I hope i did my reservation correctly.
I thought both routes are supposed to be panoramic.
train leaves Interlaken at 9:08 to 10:19
Zweisimmen to Montreaux leaves at 10:25 to 12:13
I hope the seat reservation i did are correct.
Please advice

The panorama train runs between Zweisimmen and Montreux and the Interlaken to Luzern Express is also Panoramic. I checked the MOB website and your times look good!

I am assuming the leg between Interlaken & Zweisimmen is not panoramic but standard
Thx

Yes, it is not a special panoramic train on that leg of the route.
