Hiking options for April 2018 – Wengen area

    yes it is common to do the First cliff walk and then hike to Bachalpsee and back to First. First to Grosse Scheidegg also an option. see photos attached. Hopefully the trails will be open, both are paved and normally quite popular. mark

    Thanks again Mark, both so beautiful. How long does it take to hike to Bachalpsee and to GS?

    First to Bachalpsee to First rated 1:40 hr. First to GS 1:25 hr then bus to Grindelwald. Hiking times provided by local Swiss map and don’t include time for stopping.

    The bus from Grosse Scheidegg to Grindelwald runs between 19 May–21 Oct 2018, so it won’t be running when you are there Tipptopp.

    If the bus from GS to Grindelwald is unavailable, you can hike down to Schreckfeld from GS, rated 1:25 hrs and take the cable car down to Grindelwald. The cable car stops are Grindelwald to Bort to Schreckfeld to First. Mark
