Hi, Would like expert inputs on weather conditions in mid-october…I am traveling with wife & 10 yr old son, not looking out for snow in particular, would prefer greener pastures & scenic beauty..If not October than which month would be the most suited one.

If coming in October I would try and go as early in the month as possible for Green landscapes.
If you are looking for green pastures and scenic mountain trips, late June to early October is best for accessibility.

The best month is September. Fewer tourists, still good weather.
If you want ‘GREEN’ come in May or June and bring an umbrella. 😉
However, the scenery may be hidden by clouds and rain.

I had beautiful weather and warm sunshine on 12 – 14 October 2017.
I think October can be better than September – better autumn tree colours for one.

Certainly it “can” be.
I was rushing a bit, but you will note that I linked to a useful page.
I should have used the phrase “on average.”
October is a transition month and the weather on average worsens as October progresses.
I have had beautiful days in December, too, for that matter.
Altitude matters, too. Higher is colder….Lucas used the qualifying phrase “and scenic mountain trips, late June to early October is best for accessibility.”
