Hi Sandy and Welcome to MySwissAlps,
This shouldn’t cause any problems with the panoramic trains which run on the Zweisimmen to Montreux leg. That is a discrete portion of the Golden Pass Line. Even if the regular train Spiez to Zweisimmen was running you still have to change to the MOB train at Zweisimmen. As per the notice you just have to allow extra time for the bus to reach Zweisimmen.
The bus route Wimmis to Zweisimmen pretty much parallels the train tracks (according to Google maps).
Happy travels.

Hi Sandy,
>> Instead they are routing trains and buses through Wimmis.
The trains from Speiz to Zweisimmen and on to Montreux normally go through Wimmis anyway – it’s not a different route.
The only difference during construction is that you will get off the train at Wimmis station and get on a bus. The bus will deliver you to Zweisimmen station, from where you will continue your journey by train. The bus trip will take about 45 minutes. I imagine people’s luggage will be loaded into the luggage compartment under the bus.
The SBB timetable has been updated to include the replacement bus sector, so if you do a timetable search for your travel date, you will see clear details of your route, transfer points and timing. I expect the whole thing will be very well organised. (In case you don’t already know, you will need to put “via Zweisimmen” into your timetable search to avoid generating the faster routes via Visp or Bern instead of the slower Golden Pass route.)

Thank you so much for the responses. I compared the detoured route with the regular route and it is only a 15-20 minute difference so we’ll stick with our plan and follow the detour at Wimmis.
Thank you,
Sandy
