Would love to see any comments on the itinerary, basically on the feasibility, given the time.

Also, appreciate if anyone can provide what all should and can we cover in a day in Interlaken.

    Hi gauravonnet,

You seem to have your itinerary set out already and it seems good (and I assume hotels and the Glacier Express are booked!).

As for clothes, use our web page here for links to check the weather for your trip. It is quite miserable in Zurich today (17 degrees but raining most of the day). It is supposed to get drier and hotter as the week goes on – up to 31 by Sunday.

Up in the mountains you can expect temperatures around 0 (it is -3 at the top of Mt. Titlis today).

So pack in layers as the valley is much warmer than the mountain tops!

    Hi gaurravonnet

On July 30th, if you can skip Interlaken and are able take the extra time to go into Lauterbrunnen or farther, you’ll have incredible scenery. From Lauterbrunnen if you have the time, take the train to Wengen and the Luftseilbahn ( cable car) from Wengen up to Männlichen. You don’t need to walk very far… a hundred meters or so, to see some fantastic scenery, and all will enjoy the LSB ride up from Wengen.

Even if you only walk through the village of Wengen for a few hundred

meters to the viewpoint near the church, you’ll see some very nice sights. Or, even faster- stop at Wengen, walk across the tracks and look over the edge.

Or, take a circular route by bus, cable car and “train” ( more like a tram) from Lauterbunnen to Grütschalp to Mürren to Stechelberg to Lauterbrunnen. In either direction.

I prefer to go up from Lauterbrunnen to Grütschalp first, becaus you then look toward the Jungfrau massif as you ride the “train” to Mürren.

It will make a long day if you do it.

    Thanks Lucas,

Fantastic 3 days spent at Zurich, Luzern and Mt. Titlis so far. Weather supported us so far except few gusts of mist on Mt. Titlis. Check out the pics… 🙂

    Thanks Slowpoke,

Let me see. I wonder if it will be a major detour especially given the fact that we are travelling with 4 kids (14, 10, 7, 4)

    Regards,Gaurav
