Hi Plaks,
If you have time take a train down to Stein am Rhein. A very lovely village.

Hello Plaks,
Do you have an automobile or are you moving around by public transport ?
If the former is the case, it is a quick drive to Neuhausen. You will see signs indicating the direction for the Rheinfall. You will end up going down a rather steep street, called the Rheinfallstrasse, and you will see the the Rheinfall on your left. You will come to a parking lot (there are actually two of them) from where it is an easy walk down to where you buy tickets to board the boat to go out into the river and approach the actual waterfall. You can opt to get off the boat and walk up to the top of the rock, and then catch the next boat back. I just found this link, which I think is very informative: http://www.europeanwaterfalls .com/waterfalls/rheinf all/
I like rockoyster’s suggestion of going to see Stein am Rhein. As you can see from the attached, it is a quick and easy trip by automobile. If going by train, they are frequent in both directions, and it is a quick walk (see second attached) from the station down to and over the bridge into the old town.
