Passenger Locator Form + Swiss Covid Certificate
A traveler named Marivic is flying from Dubai to Zurich on November 21 for a stay until November 30. She is planning to take the Bernina Express on November 29 and needs clarity on whether she must fill out a new Passenger Locator Form for this trip and details about obtaining a Swiss Covid Certificate.
- Complete the Digital Passenger Locator Form before arriving in Switzerland, and make sure to confirm if you need a new one for the Bernina Express.
- You can apply for the Swiss Covid Certificate through cantonal websites until a central system is live, and ensure your foreign vaccination card is valid during your stay.
- The Swiss Covid Certificate can be shown as a print-out or on your mobile device throughout Switzerland.

Dear Team,
We are flying from Dubai on November 21 and arriving Zurich on the same day.
As tourists, we are required to fill up the passenger locator form. Our stay in Switzerland would be from November 21-30.
On November 29, we are planning to do the Bernina Express (return). Do we need to fill up a new Passenger Locator Form? And does this need to be printed out?
Regarding the Swiss Covid Certificate, I have read this on your topic regarding Covid Certificate for non-residents of Switzerland –
This is how to obtain a certificate (relevant for people that don’t live in Switzerland or the EU):
A system will be set up for for vaccinated travelers to obtain a Swiss COVID-certificate digitally before departure. Costs are CHF 30. The system should be operational by October 11. There will be one federal website listing cantonal contact points.
Does this mean there is no way at the moment that I could apply for the Swiss Covid Certificate?
Thank you so much!
