This was my first trip to Switzerland. I was glad I had approached MySwissAlps to plan my itinerary. This had taken away the stress of planning my itinerary. We provide our itinerary planning service for free. You will only pay our travel package partner for the package they create for you.

What does the travel package cost?
We can mix and match as you please, so the exact amount depends on your unique trip. While filling out the request, you’ll see an estimate of the price. This is based on the length of your Switzerland trip, whether you want to travel 1st or 2nd class, which hotel category you prefer, if you’ll be leaving on short term, if you’re traveling in tourist high season, etc.

The actual costs of the package offered by our partner can be higher or lower than this estimate.

How long does it take before I receive my travel plan and package quote?
It usually takes less than a week.

Am I required to book the package?
No. You’re not required to book the package offered by our partner. We selected them carefully though; you’ll be in good hands!

How much time do I have to decide?
Once you’ve received the travel package offer, you can take all the time you need to decide or request changes.
However:
1) reservations are not secured until you have confirmed your booking, so hotels and trains can book out in the meantime.

Do you guarantee the cheapest possible trip?
No. A personalized travel package is typically more expensive than a DIY trip. That’s because it is tailor-made for you, experts will help you, and all bookings will be handled for you. You’ll save a lot of time and end up with the best possible travel plan, plus personal assistance.

Do you guarantee a perfect itinerary?
No. We have a lot of travel experience in Switzerland and answer questions every day, but still, there are limits to what we can do. We’ll do our best for you! Also, it’s common to have more on your wish list than what realistically fits into the number of days you have available. We too still have that problem when we’re in Switzerland!
We will make sure you can make the most of your time in Switzerland. We’ll give you a realistic travel plan that meets all of your requirements, with towns and trains perfectly connected for a comfortable and scenic trip.

Who’s responsible for my trip?
Our travel package partner is responsible for the logistics and the bookings. They will ensure the correct trains are reserved, and your hotel rooms and excursions (optional) are booked. You can call them in case of issues during your trip (issues are extremely rare!).
You are responsible for checking if the itinerary we design meets your requirements. You’ll be traveling on your own. Your trip is not guided.

When should I book my personalized package?
Switzerland is popular. We advise starting your Plan + Package request 6 to 11 months in advance.
Panoramic trains can sell out 3 to 6 months before travel. Limited premium seats, such as the Glacier Express Excellence Class, are often booked out much earlier. The best hotel rooms at the best prices get booked well in advance, too.
Don’t worry if you’re late! If necessary, we’ll arrange great alternatives. Just be aware that we may not be able to fulfill all of your exact preferences.

Can I book accommodation or train tickets myself and buy the rest as a package?
No, unfortunately not. Our Plan + Package service is designed to save you the maximum amount of time, so we offer complete travel packages that include the core elements of accommodation and rail passes/tickets. If you want to book these yourself, you can plan and book your trip yourself with the resources and carefully selected booking links on our website. Feel free to ask in the forum if you need help!
It’s not a problem if you have already booked your travel to and from Switzerland, or accommodation at the start or end of your trip. Buying (mountain) excursion tickets on the spot in Switzerland is fine too.

Can I use my loyalty or reward programs to get hotel discounts?
No, that’s not possible. Your travel package will contain excellent hotels that fit your budget, but discounts from loyalty, reward, or savings programs can’t be applied.

Can you include Airbnb’s or holiday homes instead of hotels?
No, Airbnb’s cannot be included in a package. But we can offer lots of excellent hotels in a wide budget range.

Can I ask for specific hotels?
Feel free to mention specific hotels you’re interested in. There’s no guarantee that these can be included in your package, though. Our partner can offer a wide range of great hotels all over the country, but not all hotels.
If your preference can’t be included in your package, our partner and we will do our very best to offer an equally great alternative!

Why do you decline some Plan + Package requests?
We want to offer you the very best trip plan. That means we can’t help everyone with the Plan + Package service.
A few examples of why we may not be able to help: 1) Some requests fit better with our area of expertise than others. We have experience with particular parts of Switzerland, activities, and travel markets, for example. 2) We can’t help if your situation doesn’t meet these criteria. 3) Sometimes, there are more Plan + Package requests than we can handle.
