Must-knows about Swiss mountain hotels

  • There are hotels on many of the Swiss peaks that can be reached by cable car, funicular or cogwheel train.
  • Sleeping in a mountain hotel is one of the few ways to enjoy dinner with alpine views. That’s because the last rides down are mostly pre-dinner time.
  • Some mountain hotels are open in summer or winter only.

Swiss mountain hotels with extraordinary panoramic views

My favorite mountain hotels not only offer fantastic alpine views, but are also easy to reach. They are either right next to a cable car or train station (sometimes a bus stop), or at walking distance.

Page author: AnnikaSince early childhood I've been visiting Switzerland during my holidays and I just fell in love with the country. I spent many summers in the Bernese Oberland, which still feels like my second home, and then started to explore other areas. Traveling, hiking and photographing in the Swiss Alps are my absolute favorite activities.
