Thank you for your prompt and clear communication, Annika! It has been invaluable.
Questions we can help you with
Concrete, specific questions are the best way to take advantage of our in-depth travel experience. For example:
- Day trips: “I have nothing planned on the afternoon of September 24, what would be a scenic activity with the Swiss Travel Pass?“

- Itinerary optimization: “I know which towns I want to visit, but which order is best to limit travel time?“
- Itinerary optimization: “I have 3 days in Lucerne but my wish list is too long. What activities will give me optimal variety?“
- Itinerary optimization: “ChatGPT suggested this route from Zurich to Lucerne, but is it the most scenic?“
- “Live” travel guidance: “I’m in Switzerland and had planned a Jungfraujoch trip the day after tomorrow. It will rain, what’s a good alternative?“
- Mode of transport: “Should I take the trains or drive?“
- Train travel: “I can’t find a train from Zurich to Zermatt.“
- Train travel: “Should I book 2nd or 1st class train travel?“
- Train travel: “I can’t figure out how to book my Glacier Express seats from Zermatt to Chur on September 23, please help.“
- Where to book: “Where do I get my Mount Pilatus tickets?“
- Where to book: “I’ve found two travel packages online, which one includes the best selection of mountain peak visits?“
- Where to stay: “Is there a 3-star hotel very close to the Lucerne train station?“
- Where to stay: “I found St. Moritz too expensive, where else can I stay and still do my day trips?“
- Where to stay: “I’m trying to choose between two hotels, which is best for me?“
Questions we can’t help you with
We can’t help with broad, generic questions, questions that require an immediate answer and tasks. For example:
- Broad, generic: “Create a full itinerary for me.“
- Broad, generic: “Check my entire itinerary.“
- Broad, generic: “Calculate which train pass is cheapest for me.“
- Immediate answer: “I’m on a train right now and don’t know how to transfer to the train to Zurich.“
- Immediate answer: “The weather is bad today, what should I do?“
- Task: “Book me Glacier Express seats.“

FAQ about MySwissAlps Trip Planning Help – Email
-
Can I ask you anything?
We love answering Switzerland questions and we have lots of experience! But, a few rules apply:
1) We know a lot, but not everything. We can’t guarantee an answer to every possible question.
2) Please ask concrete specific questions (“how long is the train ride from Zurich to Interlaken”), not broad questions (“check my itinerary”).
3) Please note that we provide information and suggestions. We can’t perform tasks like booking your train tickets or reserve a restaurant.
4) A Fair-Use Policy applies. Realistically, we can answer 5 questions per client per day. We reserve the right to answer a selection if you ask many more. Please also see the examples of questions we can and cannot answer.
-
When exactly does the help start, and when does it end?
We reply to all of your emails that we receive between the start date you selected and the end date. The end date depends on how many days of help you purchased.
Example: on June 1, you purchased 7 days of Trip Planning Help starting on June 10. Emails received between June 10 and June 16 (inclusive) will be answered. Emails received before June 10 and after June 16 will not be answered.
-
Do you reply during weekends and holidays?
Of course! We’ll be there for you every day.
-
How does the Moneyback Guarantee work?
If we skip a day replying to you, we will refund the cost of a full week. This does not apply if we did not receive your email. This rarely happens, but emails do sometimes bounce at your or our email provider.
It is possible that you receive a slightly lower amount because of exchange rates and banking fees.
Please note that a “day” is a calendar day in the European time zone. Our reply can be sent at any time during the day, not necessarily exactly 24 hours after our previous reply.
-
What if I’m not happy with the answers?
If you’ve read this page carefully, then purchased Trip Planning Help, but feel our answers are not helpful, please let us know immediately. We’d love to improve. We only want happy travelers, so if you are not satisfied, we’ll refund the unused portion of your Trip Planning Help plan.
-
Why don’t I have to pay right away?
We want to make 100% sure we can help you. So, we first check your request, and then send you a payment link if we think we can help. If we can’t help, we suggest an alternative.
-
Why do you decline some Trip Planning Help requests?
We want to offer you the very best assistance. That means we can’t help everyone or every type of question.
That’s why we ask you what kind of help you are looking for when you request Trip Planning Help. If we feel we can’t help you, we won’t send you a payment link, and we will suggest an alternative.
-
Is there a cheaper option to get help?
Yes, there is. If you don’t mind asking your questions publicly, you can post them in the MySwissAlps forum. Unlike MySwissAlps Trip Planning Help – Email, replies are not guaranteed, and may come from different moderators and travelers.
-
What if I don’t have time to plan my trip, even with Trip Planning Help?
In that case I’d recommend MySwissAlps Plan + Package. That’s the easiest way to book a perfectly customized Switzerland trip, where we do (almost) all the work for you.
-
Who’s responsible for my trip?
You are. We will do our very best to help, so you’ll save time and end up with a better trip. However, we do not guarantee that all of our answers are 100% accurate. Please note that we reply from personal travel experience, and we do check if necessary. But, things can change, even overnight. Shops can close, trains get cancelled. Ultimately, you are responsible for your trip.
-
Can I only email you once per day?
No, you can send us an email at any time. But we’ll only sit down once a day to take a good look at your questions and reply. Please do note that we can help you better if you bundle your questions, as that gives us a better picture of your travel plans.
-
Why not use AI to help me plan my trip?
AI can give you an answer instantly. And it may even sound convincing. However, its advice is just an average of what tourists have posted online. The information might be outdated, it might miss important details about your preferences, or it might skip asking you practical questions that make or break a trip. It doesn’t know much about off-the-beaten-path towns and activities, or how to efficiently include them in an itinerary.
AI hasn’t visited Switzerland, and didn’t ride the trains or try the food.
With a pure AI travel plan, you’ll likely end up with an average and possibly flawed trip. Your trip will be like everyone else’s, which is not necessarily best in your particular case.
You’re about to spend a lot of money, and you deserve a fantastic trip. The price for our Trip Planning Help will be a tiny part of your total travel expenses, and gives you the opportunity to let real, experienced people help you.
-
Can I schedule a live call with you?
Not at this time, but we’re open to suggestions. Do let us know if you’d rather have a live chat session or video call than help through email.
-
Can I get help while I am traveling in Switzerland?
Absolutely! Trip Planning Help is perfect for your trip planning, but also as a backup for assistance during your trip. Please do keep in mind how we can and can’t help you: we can help you with concrete specific questions, we don’t book for you, and we reply once per day. You’ll find this explained in detail on the rest of this page.
-
I will also need help for other countries than Switzerland, do you provide that?
We’re able to provide in-depth Switzerland information only. We can help with travel from Switzerland to neighboring countries, but you’d better contact someone else for assistance with travel in other countries.
