You have created your own itinerary and need an easy, secure way to book it. We’ll check your travel plan, arrange a quote, and help you fine-tune it. Our email support after booking makes this as carefree as it can be.

Our service MySwissAlps Package

How MySwissAlps Package works

  • Step 1: once you have finalized designing your Switzerland itinerary, you submit your plan to us.
  • Step 2: with our Itinerary Check, we’ll make sure that your activities and panoramic trains are available on your travel dates, and check your itinerary for potential issues.
  • Step 3: we match your travel plan with a trusted Switzerland travel agency. They turn it into one package and give you a quote. You’ll get a full week of Free Quote Support: we’ll change the quote on your request (e.g. change hotels) and answer any questions you may have about the quote.
  • Step 4: you make just one easy booking that contains everything: hotels, rail passes, seat reservations, and (optionally) daily activities.
  • Step 5: we will now make sure you’ll be traveling effortlessly, so you’ll get 4 weeks of email support to ask any questions about your trip and booking.

You’ll have the Switzerland itinerary that you created yourself, as an easy all-in-one booking, with one point of contact.

Would you rather have us plan your full itinerary too? No problem! Get our help here.

Why choose MySwissAlps Package over DIY booking?

You already have decided on your itinerary. Of course you can now book your accommodation, travel passes, train reservations and activity tickets yourself. But, with MySwissAlps Package we combine all of that into one easy package, and you:

  • save days of comparing and navigating multiple booking websites.
  • get our Free Itinerary Check, making sure your itinerary is actually possible during your travel dates.
  • avoid booking mistakes, like booking a nonrefundable train, and then not being able to find a hotel in the arrival town.
  • only have to deal with one easy package, one payment.
  • let experts guide you. We’ll arrange for a quote with one of our qualified partners, check it, modify it if needed, help you book it, and you’ll get Free Email Support after booking, so no questions are left unanswered and you can start traveling confidently.

Meet your experts: Arno and Annika

Arno and Annika at the Cliff Walk on Grindelwald-First, against the backdrop of the Eiger North Face.

We’ve been exploring Switzerland for 30 years, and have answered tourist questions for 25 years. So we understand how overwhelming it can be to plan and book all elements of a trip. It involves many different booking websites, all with their own terms, and they all work slightly different. Even if your itinerary is set, it can easily take days to figure it all out and secure your hotels, travel and activities.

You can skip the booking challenges and use our expertise to finalize it all in one easy package. Here’s what the unique combination of our insider know-how and our partners’ booking expertise gives you:

  • save time: you’ll only have one tailor-made package, which precisely fits your itinerary. You travel independently (no group, no guide).
  • avoid hassle: no need to find reliable websites for each hotel, rail pass, and ticket.
  • we will double-check your itinerary to prevent issues, e.g. with seasonal availability.
  • get early scenic train booking: our partner can secure popular panoramic train seats earlier than individual travelers. And they have more options to seat all members of your travel party together.
  • get simultaneous train reservations and hotels: no risk of one being confirmed while the other is sold out.
  • avoid the “fully booked” stress: we and our partner will always find a great alternative if a hotel or excursion is unavailable.
  • have one booking and point of contact instead of one for each separate booking.
  • easy cancellation if needed: no need to deal with the different policies and deadlines of many separate bookings. It’s only one easy cancellation.

MySwissAlps is independent. We’re not a traditional travel agency, and we don’t sell anything ourselves. We don’t have to offer you specific packages or work with specific package providers. We only work with the best partners, who have years of experience specifically for Switzerland travel, and we only recommend what’s best for you!

I’ve explored Switzerland since early childhood, and booked many hotels and trains through many different agencies and websites. I would be happy to use that experience to make your booking process seamless, so you can just focus on looking forward to your trip.

I highly recommend this site for planning a trip to Switzerland. Annika was incredibly helpful in guiding us through the many options for our 11-day hiking trip. She responded promptly, patiently answered all our questions about hikes, accommodations, rail travel, budgeting, food, and places to visit, and created a detailed itinerary filled with useful links and flexible options. Her expertise made planning easy and our trip unforgettable. Thank you, Annika—we truly appreciate all the time and care you put into helping us!

Hello Annika, Your trip planning was excellent. My parents, traveled to over 70 countries in their lifetime. Growing up, I joined them on many trips and learned to plan travel for almost all our vacations. Switzerland beckons to be a beautiful place visit, but I must admit, the details of staying in 4 cities (visiting others), was a healthy challenge to navigate. Your, “Trip Planning Help”, offering was invaluable to helping me put many of the hidden details, that someone with your fund of knowledge would have, into our itinerary. Also, being able to ask the questions and get answers to general preparation concerns will help us enjoy your country with more confidence. Again, thank you for your help. Regards, Ron

I purchased a one-week service to help me plan a future trip to Switzerland. I was allowed up to five questions per day, with answers sent to me the next day. The responses were outstanding and will be an enormous aid to help me craft a great trip. The information I received was detailed, practical, and actionable. Very friendly and fun to work with, too. I highly recommend MySwissAlps for anyone considering a self-guided trip to Switzerland.

My wife and I are first-time visitors to Switzerland and honestly had no idea where to begin. Annika was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process – every question we had, she answered quickly and thoroughly. What really impressed us was her attention to detail and how well she understood what we were looking for. She even sent a personal video walking us through our itinerary, which was such a thoughtful touch. We are genuinely excited about this trip and feel completely at ease knowing everything has been taken care of. Definitely recommend MySwissAlps for anyone looking for travel planning

Overall, we had a very good trip. My Swiss Alps could not be held accountable for the 90° plus days that we endured. Train trip to Lacorna was beautiful. We did not go to Bellinzona To see the castle grande, as it was 95° and walking, even a couple blocks produced a drenching sweat. The hotel Maggiore was five star in every way. Luckily, we were able to eat at the restaurant in the hotel as every other one we looked at had no air conditioning or wanted to forgo the cost of closing doors and windows and having air conditioned indoor dining. It would be repetitive to talk about further trains because they were all very good.. The extra space of first class was worth the cost. . In Lucerne the Hotel Schweizerhof was a well earned five star. Their concierge was one of the two best we have ever used. The old town was much like many other old towns in Europe. Again it was 94° so we didn’t walk a whole lot. likewise, the cogwheel train was deleted secondary to heat. We substituted the transport, museum and thoroughly enjoyed it. The food in the hotel restaurant was Michelin quality. The Victoria, hotel and spa in Interlochen was five star. Although still very hot, we did take the funicular and enjoyed the fantastic views. Food in the hotel was outstanding. At this point things began to fall apart. All trains from Brig to Zermatt were canceled due to”natural event” and there was no assurance that they would be open the next day. To put it mildly the hotel ambassador was a 1 star hotel. No air-conditioning and the lowest temperature in our room that night was 84°.Our included meal was a shoe leather pork chop. Of note, was that terrible meal was in the same restaurant that had a 4-5 star menu for patrons coming to eat not getting an included meal. We then improvised and became our own travel agent and moved our next afternoon glacier express to the morning at an additional cost of over Fr.100.The SBB clerk who helped was the best thing in Brig. It was worth it to leave Brig as quickly as possible .There really isn’t anything in Brig. Seeing that there wasn’t going to be any air-conditioning in our hotel at Chur we just continued on to Zurich. My wife took over as travel agent and secured a room at the hotel Marriott in Zurich which was very good. I took over the ground transportation. At this point, I felt very confident in dealing with the train system in Switzerland. We stayed at the.Storchen which was very enjoyable and has a Michelin restaurant. Wonderful meal. Long delays in the hotel due to an inadequate one elevator operation that was used not only by the guests, but room service and housekeeping. What a beautiful city Zürich is, and we enjoyed the beautiful sites and outstanding museums. We stayed our last night in the Radisson Blue at the airport to ease the logistics of navigating the airport. Both incoming and outgoing we were stuck in the terminal, not connected to the main airport. You walk about half an hour or more to get to your gate. I would recommend that anyone leaving fairly early, to stay at one of the hotels at the airport.

Arno was a huge help in planning my recent epic trip to Switzerland. I used both the itinerary and trip-planning services, which proved helpful both before and during the trip! I had an itinerary that he reviewed, and from that I was able to streamline the travel time. He filled in the “holes” and provided recommendations for walking tours, parking, restaurants, and sites. During my trip, he promptly responded to daily emails that I sent asking for last-minute suggestions due to changes in the itinerary. Once again, that was helpful and saved me time from having to research these things online. The trip was everything I hoped it would be and more. I would highly recommend Arno’s services!

We worked with Annika at MySwissAlps to plan our trip. The process was efficient and easy and Annika did a great job of turning our wishlist into a manageable trip, She was very knowledgable about the various regions and towns within them and the details of the hotels. She was able to suggest many options for day trips and excursions during our vacation and we cannot wait to experience the trip this summer. The actual booking process was also very easy, with clear instructions and a user friendly interface. Overall it was a very good experience.

I had a truly wonderful experience working with Annika at MySwissAlps for planning our family vacation to Switzerland this August. From the very first email, her thoughtful approach and warm personal touch stood out — her personalized video walking us through the trip plan was such a nice surprise! Over many weeks, Annika patiently answered every one of my questions, truly taking the time to understand what our family was looking for. The detailed travel plan she created perfectly balances fun activities for our college-age kids (zip lines, toboggan runs, mountain coasters, scenic train rides) with quieter moments to soak in Swiss scenery. She also went the extra mile to arrange a flexible pay option that gave us the peace of mind to finalize the booking. Her responses are always prompt, helpful, and full of useful details. I simply cannot recommend Annika and MySwissAlps highly enough.

So much information! Great resources for planning our adventure! The professionally written articles are great in themselves, but the icing on the cake is the great responsiveness to questions; there is so much information that they freely provide with advice, links, etc no matter the itinerary, budget, or interests. I received a quote that was not in my budget, and they were happy to suggest I book my trip on my own and provided personalized resources, with no pressure to increase my budget or attempts to pressure me into using their paid service. It is not working out for this trip, but when I make a return trip I’ll definitely consider using them again.

MySwissAlps did an amazing job planning our trip. We were in Switzerland for 11 days and we covered alot of ground in that time. Arno and his team did an excellent job giving pointers and guiding us on how much time we should spend at each location. They arranged our hotels to be very convenient to the train stations. All of the hotels were clean and welcoming with friendly hosts. Most had restaurants that were fantastic. Most all of the complimentary breakfasts were much more than just a cold continental breakfast. Also, the Swiss rail pass that Arno booked for us exceeded our expectations. It is well worth the money and provides so much freedom. We couldn’t be happier with our vacation and will definitely use MySwissAlps travel group again!

FAQ about MySwissAlps Package

  1. What does MySwissAlps Package cost?

You only pay for your Switzerland travel package. Once our partner has sent you your quote, we’ll provide 1 week of Free Quote Support. During that time, we’ll answer any questions you may have about the quote, and if you want changes (e.g. different hotels), we’ll arrange that too.

If you need more time to decide, we’ll charge a service fee of CHF 49* to extend your Quote Support for another week.

If you book your package within one week of receiving your quote, we will also:
    4) create your detailed personal Swiss travel plan PDF, with your day-to-day activities, timetable instructions for each trip, directions on how to reach your hotels, and town and activity guides;
    5) provide 4 weeks of email support so you can travel confidently with no questions left.

*) The fee is excluding 21% VAT if you live in Europe. No VAT applies if you live elsewhere.

  2. What does the travel package cost?

The exact amount depends on the details of the itinerary you created. While filling out your request, you’ll see an automated estimate of the price. This is based on the length of your Switzerland trip, whether you want to travel 1st or 2nd class, which hotel category you prefer, if you’ll be leaving on short notice, if you’re traveling in tourist high season, etc.

The actual costs of the package offered by our partner can be higher or lower than the automated estimate.

  3. How long does it take before I receive my package quote?

Making a plan and arranging a quote for you takes about 1 week.

  4. Am I required to book the package?

No. You’re not required to book the package offered by our partner. We selected them carefully, though; you’ll be in good hands!

  5. How much time do I have to decide?

Once you’ve received the travel package offer, you can take all the time you need to decide or request changes.

    Please note:
    1) Reservations are not secured until you have confirmed your booking. Hotels and trains can book out in the meantime, and prices can change.
    2) You’ll receive Free Quote Support for 1 week. You can extend this for a small fee, please see the FAQ “What does MySwissAlps Package cost?“.
    3) You’ll receive Free Email Support after booking. This offer only applies if you book within one week after you’ve received the initial quote. If you extend the Quote Support for a week, you’ll still receive Free Email Support if you book within that week.

  6. Do you guarantee the cheapest possible trip?

No. A tailor-made travel package, with experts helping you, is typically more expensive than booking everything yourself. You’ll save a lot of time and end up with a convenient unique travel package, plus personal assistance.

We are happy to take your budget into account by switching to different but still comfortable hotels (if available), not including some of the activity tickets (so you decide about those later), or changing the class of train travel.

If you prefer planning and booking yourself, we can help you too.

  7. Do you guarantee a “perfect” itinerary?

No. You have created your itinerary yourself. We help you book it in the easiest way possible. If you prefer us designing your itinerary as well, we’d be happy to help you with MySwissAlps Plan + Package.

  8. Who’s responsible for my trip?

Our travel package partner is responsible for the logistics and the bookings. They will ensure the correct trains are reserved, and your hotel rooms and excursions (optional) are booked. You can call them in case of issues during your trip. Issues are extremely rare though.

Because of our Free Itinerary Check, you itinerary will not have major flaws. But please remember: it’s your itinerary, and we are only aware of the elements included in your travel package. You are responsible for creating an itinerary that matches your interests and travel style. If you’d rather let us do the planning, MySwissAlps Plan + Package would be perfect for you.

You’ll be traveling on your own. Your trip is not guided.

  9. When should I book my personalized package?

Switzerland is popular. We advise starting your MySwissAlps Package request 6 to 11 months in advance. Once we get to the point where you have received a quote, it is best to book as soon as you are happy with the offer, because availability and pricing are dynamic.

Panoramic trains can sell out 3 to 6 months before travel. Limited premium seats, such as the Glacier Express Excellence Class, are often booked out much earlier. The best hotel rooms at the best prices get booked well in advance, too.

Don’t worry if you’re late! If necessary, we’ll arrange great alternatives. Just be aware that we may not be able to fulfill all of your exact preferences.

  10. Can I book accommodation or train tickets myself and buy the rest as a package?

No, unfortunately not. Our MySwissAlps Package service is designed to save you the maximum amount of time, so we offer complete travel packages that include all the core elements of accommodation and rail passes/tickets.

It’s not a problem if you have already booked your travel to and from Switzerland, or accommodation at the start or end of your trip. Buying (mountain) excursion tickets on the spot in Switzerland is fine too.

If you’d rather plan and book your trip yourself, but want our assistance, consider Trip Planning Help – Email.

  11. Can I use my loyalty or reward programs to get hotel discounts?

No, that’s not possible. Your travel package will contain excellent hotels that fit your budget, but discounts from loyalty, reward, or savings programs can’t be applied.

  12. Can you include Airbnb’s or holiday homes instead of hotels?

No, Airbnb’s cannot be included in a package. But we offer lots of excellent hotels in a wide price range.

If you prefer Airbnb’s or holiday homes, you can plan and book your trip yourself with our assistance.

  13. Can I ask for specific hotels?

Feel free to mention specific hotels you’re interested in. There’s no guarantee that these can be included in your package, though. Our partners offer a wide range of great hotels all over Switzerland, but not all hotels.

If your preference can’t be included in your package, we will do our very best to offer an equally great alternative!

If you’d rather plan and book your trip yourself, but want our assistance, consider Trip Planning Help – Email.

  14. Why do you decline some MySwissAlps Package requests?

We want to offer you the very best package. Not every itinerary is a perfect fit for the MySwissAlps Package service, and we’d rather be straightforward about that.

A few examples of why we may not be able to help:
    1) Not every hotel, train or activity ticket is available to be included in a package (but a lot are!).
    2) We can’t help if your situation doesn’t meet these criteria.
    3) Sometimes, there are more requests than we can handle. Quality comes first!

We’ll always provide alternative options to plan your trip.

  15. How can you help me if MySwissAlps Package isn’t right for me?

If you prefer us to not only help you book your trip, but also design your itinerary based on your preferences and travel style, consider Plan + Package.

If you’d rather plan and book your trip yourself, but want our assistance, consider Trip Planning Help – Email.

  16. Why not go straight to a travel agency to request a package?

MySwissAlps is independent. We don’t book hotels, sell train passes, or anything other than our expertise. We don’t have to include or exclude specific trains, attractions, or hotels in your package. We will truly tailor the package to your unique itinerary, rather than arranging a standard package for you.

Our many years of personal travel experience help finding excellent alternatives should something be booked out, and we only work with the best package providers, who are very experienced in Switzerland travel.

  17. How does Free Quote Support work?

We’ll arrange for your package quote, and help you explain and modify it for free for a week. The week starts on the day you receive your quote.

A week is usually more than enough to decide, but if you need more time you can always extend support for a small fee. Please see the FAQ “What does MySwissAlps Package cost?“.

  18. Can I still book if the Free Quote Support is expired?

If your Free Quote Support is expired, and you didn’t extend it, you can usually still book the offer. We just can’t help you make modifications to the offer.

In some cases, your online offer can be modified by yourself. We strongly recommend you not doing so, and let us handle any tweaks to your package. The system is highly customized and changing one hotel can easily break a train reservation, for example.

Please note: nothing is reserved for you until you book. Until then, accommodations and trains can be booked by others, and prices can change.

  19. Why does Free Quote Support only last one week?

Switzerland is popular and availability of hotels and trains can be pretty limited, depending on the selected towns and the time of travel. Since you had already decided on your itinerary before contacting us, a week is usually more than enough to decide about the travel package only, while limiting your risk of accommodation or trains getting booked out in the mean time.

  20. How does Free Email Support work?

Book your custom-made travel package within one week of receiving your initial quote, and you’ll receive 4 weeks of personal email support, starting from your booking date. This is perfect for asking any remaining questions, so every detail of your trip is clear.

If you do not qualify (anymore), we’re still happy to assist you personally, or you can ask your questions in the MySwissAlps forum. Apart from our support, the package supplier will also be available for your questions at any time.

A fair-use policy applies. We aim to reply to questions directly related to your trip within 3 business days.

  21. How do I cancel my booking?

That’s one of the advantages of MySwissAlps Package: instead of cancelling different hotels, tickets and train reservations (which often cannot be cancelled at all), you just cancel one single package. One set of terms, one cancellation. But, hopefully it’s not needed and you can enjoy your trip to the fullest!

I spent many summers in the Bernese Oberland, which still feels like my second home, and then started to explore other areas. Traveling, hiking and photographing in the Swiss Alps are my absolute favorite activities.
