We have been planning a trip from Interlaken to Venice in July 2014. There seemed to be a very good 7-8 hour connection via Kandersteg , Brig, and Milan . However, after June 15, the time table seems to have changed, so that the trip is now 17 hours and goes through Zurich. Any ideas if our good connection is going to show up again? Thanks Eve

    Hi Eve,

As far as I know there are no construction works planned there at that time. I have seen similar issues before and in those cases this was caused by the timetable for the Italian leg not being ready yet for the period. I think something like that is causing this as well, as construction works would not take months, and currently the timetable even indicates are much longer travel time for August.

You can either wait for a week or two or contact the SBB to ask what’s happening in this case.
