When do hotels in Zermatt open for booking in Dec

I was searching for hotels in Zermatt from 24th to 29th Dec 22 on Google Maps and booking.com and it seems there are very little choices. Am I booking too early or normally people book 2 months in advanced?

I would guess your dates are high season for skiers. I recently booked hotels in Lucerne and Wengen for July 2023. Yes, people book very early. I would think 2 months in advanced for Zermat is quite late.

If you click on the map on booking.com you will see that the hotels are fully booked. That is likely to be the case in most resorts during the skiing season especially over the Christmas period.

I Imagine you would need to book a year in advance to get a good choice. Perhaps try for 2023 in Zermatt? During the skiing season we book when we leave the hotel for the next year to make sure we get a room and we don't even go over Christmas.

As others already wrote, you are already a bit late. Winter season is ski season, this is the most popular time of the year.
