If we want to see these villages, where should we fly in to and where should our base location be? Zermatt, Morcote, Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen, Adelboden. We need to eventually end up in Basel, as that is where we connect with a Viking tour group. Thanks so very much for any suggestions or guidance.

You need to say how long your trip in Switzerland will be. Otherwise we cannot advise easily

Hi ellenchas,

Welcome to MySwissAlps.

Switzerland is a fairly small country and has an excellent transport network. So you can easily plan a trip to see various regions and destinations regardless from which airport you're flying into. Of course, much will depend on how much time you set aside for this trip. Perhaps you can start with Lucerne or Interlaken. Both have direct train service to Basel so are convenient options. Lucerne is a good base to explore the central region. Interlaken is ideal for exploring the Bernese Oberland. Both regions are dotted with lovely and scenic villages. You can find links to sightseeing options in Lucerne and Interlaken below.

Also, have a look at these sample itineraries to give you some ideas on how to plan your trip.

Hope this gets you started.
