I don’t think you will find the view much worse from the aisle seats. The trains are narrow gauge so the coaches aren’t all that wide. Anyway, in an aisle seat you benefit from getting a better view on both sides of the train

Hi Anil,
I find it surprising as well – perhaps try contacting them again and speaking to a new person. Maybe they will be more accommodating.

Hi Anil,
If window seats are available it’s a bit weird that you received corridor seats. I’m not sure if that’s the case? If you can’t sort it out with them, please post your booking number here so I can pass this on to them.

Dear Arno
Thank you very much indeed. My reference number is QCM8E2. I’ve been in touch with Jorg in HappyRail. Unfortunately I don’t have any phone number for them and have only been able to contact Jorg by email.
Even if I get 2 window seats (in the same coach) for a family of 4 it will be great.
I do appreciate your help.
With best wishes.
Anil

You’re welcome Anil. I have passed this on. I can’t guarantee a solution as that’s up to them, but they will take a look at what happened.

The railway doesn’t guarantee the direction of travel for the train (as it can change during the trip). Best you can do is book a window seat. You can request the right side with HappyRail during or after making reservations and see if they can do it for you though.

Hello,
Don’t be to concerned about the seating arrangements on the Bernina Express. We travelled in April and regardless of where you sit, you won’t miss anything really. If you are a photographer though, booking second class may be an advantage.

Is everything sorted out with HappyRail now Anil?

Hi Arno
Thank you very much for your message. I was told by HappyRail recently that all seats are booked so they can’t help. I must say that they could have been more helpful to begin with rather than taking few days with to and from messages by email. No contact phone number customer services details etc were provided. It will be a suggestion for them to include a map of seats on their website while someone is making a seat reservation.
We are however still enthusiastic and will have a great time on Bernina Express.
Thanks again for the help and support from your team.
With best wishes.
Anil

Thanks for the update Anil! They are working on some of your suggestions so I have no doubt things will improve in the future. Glad to hear it is at least cleared up for you now.
Enjoy the ride on the Bernina Express!
